Ivydale is an unincorporated community located in the eastern part of Clay County, West Virginia, United States. It is situated along West Virginia Route 16 between the towns of Clay and Lizemores. Ivydale was originally settled in the 1800s and is named for the ivy that grows abundantly in the area. The community has a small population and is mostly residential, with a few small businesses located along Route 16. The nearby Elk River provides opportunities for fishing and other recreational activities. Ivydale is also home to a post office and a volunteer fire department.
